It's weird, I never use this username since I have my new ID, nugraha. But when I came to this forum again, it's automatically changing to my old ID. And I dont even remember which email address I used to with username tikanugraha.

There are explanations all over the forum, please look for them. If you want your username changed back to nugraha, just request that change in the thread linked in the post just before yours.

Before jumping to conclusions, at least know the facts. There was a problem (a long time ago by the way, where have you been?) with the database, and we promptly changed everyone's usernames back to what they wanted.

i did notice, i actually made a thread about "where my username" went to, but i just didn't bother with it. but i notice people here are calling me Manoj........ and now they have my last name as well. I mean, first off, i have no idea how people here got my first name????? maybe it was a looooooonnnnnnnnnnngggggggggg time ago when I became a SRK fan in 1999 and i was obsessed with SRK and i was happy that i was in a SRK forum and stuff and maybe introduced my self by my first name on the forum. I dont' remember, but having my last name as well in my username is alittle creepy. Some one with a little time and resources could easly find out who i am. i'm glad i haven't given out my location

First of all, I don't remember how your first name got to be known, maybe you revealed it yourself. But once you're here for some time, it generally gets known.

Secondly, like Reema said, when the forum experienced difficulties all the usernames got erased and the email ID names were used as usernames. But that was corrected within a week and most members got their usernames back or had it changed to something else. If you weren't there when this happened, you should have requested a change as soon as you saw it. Since you didn't, it was assumed that your first and last names were the ones you wanted as your username.

BTW if you don't want your name known, I suggest you don't use it as your email ID either. Because this can happen again.

that's actually my choice if i want my "name" in my email address, since that is private, i didn't think it would have been a problem for me.

But, from my experience, when a forum changes or has problems, when a member enters the forum, they are forced to log back in, or it will have a message stating to contact the admin.

What would you guys have done if the email address was a bad word or something or something effensive and inappropriate.

I'm not griping, i'm just sayin..........

Oh and also, i hardly visit the Feedback and Suggestions forum, and who exactly comes here "often", only if they have question. One other thing i notice in other forums is they have a sticky in each forum about changes or things that happened recently to the forum.

I'm just sayin becareful next time, because it could be a huge issue if it falls in the wrong poster who wants to stay anonymous

Your experience is not that vast, then. We dealt with the problem the only way it could be dealt with.

Who knows? We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. It behooves everyone to have some sane email IDs doesn't it, at least the ones you furnish for the forum.

If someone wants to stay anonymous, they should do a better job of it.

We expect members to look at all new posts in every forum. It's not our fault if you don't visit the forums where we give the announcements. We aren't going to inform members one by one by PM or email when something goes wrong, we expect you to read the threads. And there was a thread and full discussion about this problem in the Daily Notices forum when it happened. The rest is up to you.
