Showman Subhash Ghai was pleasantly shocked when Shah Rukh Khan paid him a surprise visit at his institute Whistling Woods Inter-national in Film City.
He gifted Ghai the latest hi-tech VNO mobile handset and also dropped in for a visit with Ghai’s students.
Says Ghai, “Shah Rukh was shooting for KBC 3 nearby, so he decided to drop by and surprise my students.
He surprised me too when he presented me with the VNO high-tech mobile handset.
He is like family to me and a great supporter of WWI.
It was a very sweet gesture, but then only Shah Rukh can give such surprises.”
Ghai says SRK presented him with the gift as both of them are gadget-savvy people. “Shah Rukh loves to give me surprises.
When he heard that this mobile had come into the market, he bought it for me. It’s very small and compact and has the latest in information technology.”
According to Ghai, both Shah Rukh and his passion for gadgets go back to their Pardes days. “Ever since we interacted in Pardes, we have bonded over gadgets.
Shah Rukh loves to show off his technical gadgets and even owns a special effect company. He keeps calling me over to see the latest stuff he has introduced there. He’s like a child when it comes to technology.”
Besides gifting Ghai with the cell phone SRK also interacted with the students at WWI. Says Ghai, “Shah Rukh promised them that he would come again. They were thrilled to meet him.”
One doesn’t think that Ghai would be such a technology savvy person. But he says, “You would be surprised. I make my own presentations and do my own research on the computer.
Right from the beginning, Mukta Arts has introduced new things to the film industry. Today, my students at WWI are all learning on Mac PCs.”
