'Chak De India' is the best reviewed major release this year, 'Kaaflia' poor
Shahrukh Khan's latest film, Chak De India, released today to a great response with critics. With 11 critics reviews currently in for the film, 10 have been positive and only 1 has been negative. Even the negative review calls it 'a well made product'. While many more reviews will be coming in over the next several days, currently Chak De India is at a 73%, which is 'Very Good' and enough to overtake Guru (72%) as the best reviewed major release of the year. Of all releases of the year, it is at #4, behind Black Friday (80%), Parzania (74%) and Dharm (74%).

With the critics, this is Shahrukh's best reviewed film in some time, trumping his recent releases Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (65%), Don - The Chase Begins Again (58%) and Paheli (61%). However, at the box office, it is a different story. The advance for Chak De India is the worst for a Shahrukh Khan starrer since One Two Ka Four released in 2001. However, strong word of mouth could change it's fate at the box office. For all news and reviews for Chak De India, click here.

The releases of the week, Kaaflia and The Blue Umbrella, didn't fare as well. The Blue Umbrella is at a 60%, which is still 'Good', much better than Kaaflia, which is at a 25% which is 'Bad'. Keep checking this space over the next several days as many more reviews for the aforementioned films come in.

I just don't understand the Indian Box Office. Hasn't the movie only been out ONE day so far? And when stories like this got written, and when they did the tv news broadcasts, all the film's showings weren't even finished for Friday yet. How does this work? It makes no sense to me.

This is what I'm pleasantly surprised about...usually there are more negative reviews for a SRK starrer....this film must be so well made that even the critics can't find points to criticize...:yipee:

I am so happy to hear all of the positive reviews from critics and fans.

I can't go until next week because I have to watch 12 lectures in order to take my test Sunday, but I am purchasing my ticket tonight, and I'm leaving work early Monday so I can see it.

IM PISSED I CANT SEE IT ON OPENING NIGHT!

I hope everyone enjoys it this weekend. And can't wait for all of your reviews!
