Ghar ki talash: Deepika Padukone
Om Shanti Om's 22-year-old actress Deepika Padukone is all set to buy a flat in the hip locality of Bandra. The actress has just returned from New York and says, "I'm hunting for a flat in Bandra, as it's easier to commute to the suburbs from there."
Currently, Deepika is slumming it out in rented digs in Bandra. "The reason for shifting is not just a bigger place, but also something to call home. I've been living in a rented apartment for the last two years, so I think it's high time I buy my own place," she says.
Deepika says she'll design the space along with a professional designer's help. "I've always been interested in interiors, and whenever I flip through magazines and like some interesting furniture or designs I keep the idea in mind. However, I will appoint an interior designer as it's easier. I will be travelling a lot and won't have time to do it on my own," she says.
Good response
Talking about her debut film, Deepika says she's very happy with the response to Om Shanti Om. "I had gone for the Chivas Regal launch to New York with Karan Johar and Raghavendra Rathore and was proud to represent my country there. OSO has got the attention of the West and the response has been great."
Is she nervous about Saawariya and the other two debutants, Ranbir and Sonam Kapoor? "I am not nervous at all. Both films are of completely different genres and Farah Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are both fantastic in their own fields," she says.
