Kolkata coach John Buchanan has said that they are likely to try out some of their lesser-known players. That could mean Siddarth Kaul getting a game ahead of Ashok Dinda. Local boy Ishant Sharma should get a game at the Kotla while Sri Lankan spinner Ajantha Mendis might be preferred to Mohammad Hafeez.

He said in his sms that he'd go to the hotel to meet the team but would not attend the match. Anyway, it's raining again, at least in my part of Delhi,(thunder and stuff) so I wonder what's going to happen to the match? Was listening to the TV channel, apparently they have the wicket well protected, if only the rain STOPS completely, they could get going even with a little delay, but that seems like a big if right now..

Can anyone clue me in: if this match gets washed out, does that mean we've seen the last of KKR for this season?

It couldn't get any worse, could it? It's a real shame though as we could still have made it, with Mumbai's defeat to King XI and Bangalore's surprise win over Chennai. :sad:
But on the other hand, it would have been unbearable to watch KKR mess up again and throw the game due to lack of fighting spirit or, for some, talent. :shrug:

I have a question. I'm not much attuned to Indian weather but isn't the tournament a bit late in the season, i.e. when the weather is quite unpredictable as the monsoons draw near? Couldn't they have it earlier in the year? The other advantage would be that it wouldn't clash so much with international test series and thus not deprive the team of its best (only?) batsmen.

I feel like we've been cheated...not because KKR lost many games or whatever but because they've lost due to unavoidable and unfair circumstances. Like...they lost one and didn't even get to play one because of RAIN! How saddd is that! :groan: I can't get over the ridiculousness of this stupid situation.
How come other teams didn't have to face such unfair things..and how come only KKR is being targetted by the media for not making it to the semis. It's like they wanted to see KKR fail since the beginning...I just feel like this whole thing has been very unfair for KKR. SRK is too nice to say anything...I wish they go and ask for a rematch, for both that CSK game and this DD game.

I am not sad because they lost the chance in IPL (because as we all know SRK did more than his best to support, motivate and inspire the team. if they don't perform well it's not at all his fault), but I am sad to see him hurt. without his fault he has to give explanation for each and everything and has to take responsibility for dipping TRPs ETC. IMO, It is just a matter of time. In no time I am sure SRK's magic will help us to bounce back.
