Hey guyz,

I had been wanting to do this from a looong time, but never got down to doing it fearing it could be too time consuming or complicated :blushing:. Now I think why not collaborate with y'all and come up with something together? This could take a while to make but I hope this doesn't turn out to be too complex practically.

Ok this is The Plan:

I want to make an audio CD of non-stop theme and background music from SRK movies. By non-stop I mean one single mixed track and not separate bits and pieces of sounds. It could even be a 1 hour long track.

The challenge: The biggest challenge from what I can tell could be in doing the mix so that it sounds great as one single continuous track. I mean the transitions from one piece to another. For the bigger pieces it may not be much of a problem but if we include short sound pieces extracted from songs and the videos, that may be challenging.. as it could sound like jumping from one piece to another. In some cases though, a simple overlapped fade-in/fade-out could do the trick. Anyone confident with sound editing? Maybe (s)he can edit and render the final thing after we collect the sounds.

I think I would love a CD of the little upbeat themes - the cool, peppy, groovy, happy ones. It could be played in the car, when friends get together or even after a regular day's work.
Maybe we could have another track later for the slow, soft stuff. Both won't gel together in one track (I guess). Good theme music is so great, you can't sing it... hence mostly not as popular as the songs.. but they immediately remind you of the movie and its situations.

On rare occasions we are lucky enough to get some instrumental theme music as part of the movie's audio, but mostly we don't. Again in movies like Don, where there is a theme and a remix with additional sounds in the audio CD, there are still innumerable little gems of theme music pieces that we can hear only when we see the movie. We could include parts of songs, parts of bg music from the movies and of course parts of or full background themes provided in the audio CDs of the movies. If it is not impossible to cut out any dialog from a piece and if you think it wouldn't sound bad as part of the whole track, we might retain that too.

What do you think? And please suggest what all can be included. Also, share whatever music files you can... its often difficult to explain sound in words LoL


There are many that I love, like:

*The Don theme (but of course), the Don walk bg sound, parts of the MHD funcinternational mix. I'm sure there are other stuff in the movie that's not on the audio CD.

*The MHN theme -- the "listen to me when i say" thing that's keeps playing, plus the music (it plays continuously in many of the college field scenes).

* In Deewangee of OSO, there are two parts I love and could listen to all day. The starting beat with drums and then the *tintintininininininitintin* tune that keeps playing as the stars enter.

* Baadshah : I love the guitar instrumental part at the start of the title song.



.. many many more that are not coming to mind at the moment. Will post later.

I really would like to help although I´m not that telented. I have no idea about mixing music but maybe I can help provide music from different scenes from his movies. I can copy themes (maybe also some small dialogues if you want to ad them to your mix) from my DVD´s and convert them into wma/mp3-files. What I need is a clear description of the movie scene.

Another thing, those who upload don't extract the exact part, have about 10 sec of music in the beginning and in the end. I will do the exact editing.

When I extract themes from the DVD it is an wma-file with 160 kbps. But after converting it to a mp3-file with a free programme I have it goes down to just 64 kbps. Has anyone a better programme (s)he can suggest? Or woud wma-files be ok???

Ujj, what will you edit with? will it support wma as input?

I will be using a wav editor but I many converters that can convert all types of files so even if you give me a WMA, I should be able to convert them.

WMA, MP3, WAV, MP2, MIDI all formats will do, I will have to ultimately convert them to WAV.

What about the entry music of Mukesh in OSO? I love that bit (but it is maybe a bit dramatic).

I added some music from OSO (it´s really hard to find scenes with music where nobody talks):

the ghost scene (OK sees Shanti, Muskesh and Om)

I am sorry for the delay. I almost forgot about this. I have had to rebuild my system and the TV Tuner card is not working properly. I still have issues with it. The audio has all the weird sounds coming from it. I don't know if I am going to be able to upload KAPPS EPs here from now on.

I´m always bad remembering good score music from scenes. If you have some scenes in mind just let me know and I try to make files from them. I just don´t have the time to watch through all movies. I already posted some stuff from OSO and I have a lot of movies (not all from the older ones).

hmmm I don't know Sam :D this is the first time I will be doing something like this. I will need help with the sequencing part. I don't see any problem in adding more tunes later but the whole thing has to be in sync.

You tell me how to go about, I will mainly execute what you have in mind.
