Hello Members, we have got to know that some members get the following message when they try to login - The administrator has banned your IP address.
Let me explain the issue. There are two ways a computer connects to the Internet. One via Static/Fixed IP ie a user will always join the net with a fixed IP. Secondly via Dynamic IP ie the user is allocated a random IP when connected to the net, in other words they connect to the Internet with different, different IPs every time.
As you are aware we have a spammers problem on this site, everyday we have 10-15 spammers who register on the site. One of the ways to reduce this number is to ban their IP so that they can't re-register from the same IP. We have to maintain a Banned IP list. However sometimes for some of our regular members who connect the net via Dynamic IP, join in with an IP that is in the Banned IP List.
We can't do away with the Banned IP List. Members who are seeing this problem very, very regularly can contact me via PM and I will try and see what can be done.
