No ratings. Its situational music, rating will be foolish before the songs grow and its seen how they are placed in the movie.

I lovvved tere naina and rang de already apart frm sajda. rang de sounds standard SEL but is very uplifting on repeat hearing and can wok wonders if well used in the movie. (Kinda like tu dhoop hai frm TZP) I am expecting it to be placed towards the climax.

The Strings background is powerful.

The soundtrack is a huge risk though... not even 1 song that u can humm (coz they r difficult lol) and not even 1 song that can be played in a party or disco. But I am glad KJo's taken some risk, and let SEL experiment instead of asking for template-driven stuff or saying "I don't like music that grows, I want instant hits" (heard him say that somewhere and was ).

Overall

Noor-e-Khuda? You haven't mentioned it. Also, I don't think it's really fast beat music that matters, else Rab Ne wouldn't have sold more than Billu.

No idea why the full version of Noor-E-Khuda didn't appeal as much as the 5-10 seconds preview clip of it had :hmm: Sounded slightly repetitive.

Might grow on me though.

^ well, I meant the songs are difficult to humm for mango people like me coz they're challenging musically.

I like Noor-E-Khuda now. Specially the "ajnabi mod... " and "aasmaan zard..." parts. I like the entire build up to the song, but don't like the main "Noor-E-Khuda" hook ... its somehow sounds detached from the rest of the beautiful melody and feels redundant .. like the "love will find a way" bits sounded to me in Mitwa (and how I wish Mitwa was a song from this movie and featured SRK and Kajol!!)

Tere Naina is gorgeous. My favorite. It just flows.

Shankar Mahadevan... what a genius of a vocalist.

Thanks for your review. I love the fact that the songs are situational.
