I'll just start off by saying that out of all of Karan Johar's films, this has got to be the most well rounded, and 'different' music soundtrack i've heard from him. Kudos to Karan, SEL, Niranjan, and all the singers/musicians.

I'll go in order of the track listings:

Sajdaa--The lyrics are beautiful and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's voice just takes it to another level. It has a nice beat and is easy to sing along to.

Noor E Khuda--By far the best track, imo. The way it starts off slowly and smoothly, and then picks up a little faster beat is lovely. Though the lyrics are pretty sad from the start, the music is still a bit upbeat in the beginning which is a nice contrast. The chorus is spell bounding and when Shreya starts singing, she adds that special something needed to complete the song. Beautiful!

Tere Naina--The beginning music reminds me off the good old filmi love songs. It has the old world feel to it. This is also a really nice catchy song. I can just imagine Rizvan searching for Mandira's eyes when I listen to it :P :D

Allah Hi Reham--I have never heard such a song from a Karan Johar movie before and I love the feel of it. It's so different and powerful.

Khan Theme--I like that the only prominent instruments are the strings. Usually even in an instrumental you have a lot of instruments and things going on at once. I kind of like that there is really once focused instrument and it really resonates. My only complaint is that it's shorter than i had hoped.

Rang De--Hmm, what to make of this song? It's definitely catchy and upbeat. It sings of peace and inspiration, but it doesn't really flow with the rest of the album. Hopefully it'll make more sense within the context of the film!

Overall, I think SEL have done a fantastic job. Niranjan has penned beautiful and tragic lyrics. Finally we have a meaningful and soulful album after a long time.
