Exactly! I think the promotion in India is geared to look like a romantic movie. That's why I loved the international trailer.
They were thinking of releasing Noor-e but decided against it as it gives away too much. They'll leave that promo for later. I didn't much care for this one.

You know, I'm scared that whole 1st half can be just abt Srk meeting Kajol and getting marrried(that won't be so interesting) and when Kajol asks Srk to leave..its the intermission.

If this is the story, then every1 mite say just 2nd half is good coz honestly just 1st half doesn't look give the impression of a great movie!

Abaya it IS a romantic movie. That's what Karan's being saying all along. Of course they are playing up the serious parts for the western audience.

I like both parts. That's what's going to rock in this movie. It has some real dramatic parts with love and romance threading through it.

Its so sweet but the whole promo is so powerful.

Honestly, I had been holding back my excitement about MNIK till now and have my reasons for it. But I am just blown away by Tere Naina promo. Ithad great impact... everything SRK's acting, Kajol's charm, the chemistry, the song, the subtlety. NOW it looks like it could be THE movie SRK needs right now. Beautiful moments in the promo... like when Kajol is eating a chocolate and SRK signals u will become fat, when SRK is dancing what looks like his "signature" step here, the hairstyling scene... the lost expression of SRK and Kajol finding herself being attracted... it looks like we CANNOT take this movie for granted and Karan has reached somewhere special with it. I am EXCITTEDDDD!!!! Everything seems to be falling in place... its subtle, they have managed to make SRK different, yet endearing, the issue is there, the moments are there, the romance is there....

now the only concern is the narrative... whether the movie is just about a few moments here and there or it really is gripping and has unpredictable, interesting plot points to keep people hooked. That can be found out only on Feb 12. The signs are looking good now. GOOD.

Edit: And did I say tere naina is also my favorite song of the album?

Again totally agree. It is powerful, actually when I just expected a simple romance promo but it is not Just that. In addition, I love the scene by the sea and the one following where he kisses her cheek. (I don't now if you mean that scene about Kajol being attracted) ...and song is not even my favourite in the Album.

I think the romance between SRK and Kajol will be a small part. Karan and SRK have said that this is a different movie from what Karan has done up to know and the international trailer proves it.
