Red Chillies is producing Coke Studio India

Alright, this I've to say is a great decision by SRK. I think many of you here will be familiar with Coke Studio Pakistan. If not, check this out (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coke_Studio_(Pakistan))

This show features great music by Pakistani artists and now it's coming to India, thanks to Red Chillies and MTV. Coke Studio's popularity is HUGE in India and I hope they make the show at the same level.

The guy who made the Pakistani version is also involved with the Indian version. Good luck to Red Chillies! Can't wait for this!

MTV Coke Studio India 1st Episode

Now Coke Studio have gone acros the boundaries and now MTV will telecast the MTV Coke Studio in which Indian and some Pakistani top singers will sing. his will make under production of Coca Cola Company and Samar Khan whether Supavitra Babul will direct it.

Last night was its first episode which was awesome. First and op performance of Coke Studio Season 1 was of Kailash Kher. Chinna Ponnu was feating Kailash Kher. Other performances were of Sunidhi Chohan, K.K, Shankar Mahadevan and Sunidhi Chauhan.

K.K and Sabri Brothers sang Chadta Suraj, Shankar Mahadevan sang Khogen Da, Sunidhi Chahuan sang Bichua.All performances were outstanding and first episode did much business. Now every one os waiting for next episode of MTV Coke Studio India. Date of 2nd episode will be announced soon.
MTV Coke Studio will consist of 4 episodes whether all were hopefully much hit. Their quality of sound and instrument is much good. More than 45 singers of different languages and styles like folk, classic and qawali will sang in this season.

I heard about this but I never knew Season 1 took off. I don't think its a big hit in India. I may be wrong. To the people living in India, hows Coke Studio India doing in India?

Coke Studio@MTV- season 2 to be aired on DD1

NEW DELHI: Coke Studio@MTV- season 2, which has hitherto been telecast on MTV, will also be aired on Doordarshan’s national channel DD1 from 7 July.

This season will feature musical diversity through 40 original songs, composed by 12 producers and over 200 musicians.A total of eight episodes will be telecast on Saturdays at 8.30 pm.The original compositions by singers in its second season will be released on Sony Music.

The show will keep the core idea of a fusion music project intact and will combine genres like independent, classical, folk and popular in a live performance. It will embody a musical fusion of exciting elements and diverse influences,bringing alive the magic of live recordings and performances.

The show will consist of compositions specially created by producers like Amit Trivedi, Nitin Sawhney, Karsh Kale, Clinton Cerejo, Shantanu Moitra, Ehsaan & Loy and Hitesh Sonik

Renowned and independent singers who will feature in the show include Usha Uthup, Kaushiki Chakrabarty, Swanand Kirkire, Harshadeep Kaur, Noora Sisters, Shilpa Rao, Jalebee Cartel, Nitin Sawhney, Hari and Sukhmani, Papon, Dhruv Sangari, La Pongal, Agam, Saawan Khan Mangniyar, Mame Khan, Piyush Mishra and Shankar Tucker.
