Attn: All Newcomers
Welcome to the forum.
![]() This site is for all diehard fans of Shah Rukh Khan/SRK who would love to share their love for him and his movies, discuss, make friends with people of mutual interest and generally have some good fun. We admins have noted over the past few years that while some newcomers fit easily into the culture of this forum, some have a tough time. That's because we are different from other forums in quite a few ways. So I want to address a few issues here in the hope that newcomers will find it easier to settle in. 1. Please DO read the Rules and Guidelines. Every forum has one and most people either ignore it or just skim through. But I assure you it will help you settle in a lot easier. Rules about the way to post, especially requiring complete words and not posting in text messaging form are not seen in a lot of other forums. So please do read carefully. 2. Members in this forum range in age from 12-13 years to infinity so a newcomer has to post with respect. 3. Taking time to read posts and see how others post will help a lot. When you join you don't have to rush around posting in every thread. I know you all must be very excited to post and make friends but sometimes it can rub members the wrong way. 4. Ask questions respectfully. Use 'IMO' (in my opinion) or 'I think' when you want to comment on someone or something. Just stating 'she looks horrible' or 'this movie will not make it past the week' will not endear you to members who have their own opinions on the matter. 5. Contradict someone's opinion respectfully. Everyone's opinion counts and everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. While we already have a rule of not bashing any member, even just stating that others don't know what they're talking about can hurt feelings. So put forth your arguments in a civil manner and nicely. 6. Very Important - Give other members time to get to know you better before you start putting forth your arguments and strong opinions. Once they know you they will not take offence so easily. Getting to know people takes time anywhere and especially online where you don't see a person's face to judge how and what they mean. Remarks can easily be misunderstood and misconstrued. 7.This is among the Rules and Guidelines too but since most newcomers 'somehow' don't seem to find it I'll state it here again. Please use complete words in your sentences. Posts which have texting kind of talk get deleted very quickly. We admins and mods may appear formidable at times but we are really a bunch of very sweet people willing to help you in any way we can. You need to get to know us better and let us get to know you too. ![]() If you try to follow these you'll find this place will soon feel like a second home. Again, A warm welcome to all of you.
