Shah Rukh Khan: 'Don't be a criminal'

Shah Rukh Khan has said that shooting Don 2 taught him never to commit a criminal act.

The actor reprises his role as the internationally sought-after criminal in the sequel to the action thriller.

He told DNA India: "It was a nice experience of shooting in a jail in Malaysia and what I learnt is that one should never do a thing which may end in imprisonment.

"The prison we filmed in Malaysia was one of the advanced kinds having facilities for criminals, but when one is lodged in jail, his freedom ends... and we felt it during our shooting amid tight security arrangements."

Producer Ritesh Sidhwani has said that the decision to make a sequel was inspired by Khan's character's "iconic" status.

He said: "I think Shah Rukh and Don gives bad a new look and people wanted more of the character. We never thought about making a sequel but I think, when people saw the film, they appreciated it and they liked it. They wanted more... and we thought, 'Why not?'"
