Farhan Akhtar is slated to pair with Vidya Balan in the sequel to the 2006 film Pyaar Ke Side Effects that had Rahul Bose and Mallika Sherawat in the leading roles.



This project marks Farhan’s seventh film as an actor but also the first time he’d be starring in a romantic comedy. Dil Chahta Hai — which he wrote and directed more than a decade ago — was the closest he got to a romcom!

So, understandably, Farhan is pretty excited to experiment in a different genre. He says, “With this film, I am moving away from anything that I have been a part of earlier. I have never done a romantic comedy before. Besides, it’s a very funny script yet at the same time it’s a moving one.” Farhan also praised Saket Chaudhary and added that the debutante director has written an interesting script as well.

Given the buzz that the two make an unusual pair, Farhan is eagerly looking forward to collaborate with the actress. On being asked whether the chemistry between them will work as the film is based on the life of a married couple. “Well, that is for the audience to watch and decide, isn’t it?” poses Farhan.

Pyaar Ke Side Effects is one of my favourites, I would have loved to see Rahul Bose and Mallika Sherawat in the sequel as well.

Vidya and Farhan? lolz Farhan looks like a kid in front of Vidya if she doesn't change her self physically.

Vidya was a treat to watch once with her superb acting skills and normal indian women figure and looks among crazy size zero-can't act actresses. I think she took it granted and so careless now, She looks like a 45-50 year old actress these days.

To me she looks all beautiful and normal, I'm so tired of seeing all those size zero page one girls who have no charisma, but only lots of bones to show.

I'd still prefer the original cast, though. :-)

Rahul Bose and Mallika made such a quirky pair, that was one of the reasons the original worked. I hope they also cast Ranvir Shorey in this one as well.

Vidya was absolutely normal and so beautiful till 3-4 months ago. I don't know what happened to her recently. I am pretty sure she is healthy, so don't know why she is so lazy. If she goes by this rate, soon she will be unhealthy too.

what happened to Mallika, after giving such a wonderful performance. I thought she entered in to A list with this film, but no body signed her, meh.

I dont think Mallika ever entered A-list. Atmost, she hovered around B-list for a bit before fading out like she should have

On the topic: this seems like an odd-pairing. But I am sure, Farhan will shine again
